“I wanna thank you for this opportunity, basically I came here to talk about things in the press that aren’t accurate about me. But, I have a tremendous amount of love and respect for the West family and they’ve asked me not to go on and I’ve said from the very beginning I don’t have a side in this, they are my side and so I’m going to respect their wishes… I will not be on the show and I will not discuss any of that.”
A scrounging Larry King asks him if he’s never going to answer questions, which he then proceeds to answer.
The final exchange happens as Larry asks:
“Don’t you want to speak out?”
“No.” Answers Adams as he takes off his microphone.
“You don’t wanna?”“No. I do not.”
“Alright, but you came here to speak out?”
“That’s correct.”
No. Yes. No. Yes. I won’t answer questions, but I’ll answer your questions. No. Yes. No.
Why this man isn’t in jail is beyond me, being that he’s not a board certified plastic surgeon among countless other reasons. However; would this case be any different had Adams been a certified plastic surgeon? Would everything suddenly be okay? I’m sure people have died due to complications of plastic surgery before with real plastic surgeons under the blade. The mere fact he isn’t a certified plastic surgery just makes me wonder even more why he’s not in jail. Imagine if I were to have one of my friends sign a couple pieces of paper, have them lay on my kitchen table and proceed to give them a tummy tuck until they died and then just said, “Oops! Good thing they signed that paper. Plus, it wasn’t my fault she had bad kidneys!” If I did that I would be in jail and sentenced so fast I wouldn’t even have time to defend myself.
The other problem I have with this case lies with Donda West herself. Adams’ past is anything but perfect, two malpractice lawsuits and a couple of DUI’s would lead any reasonable person to not let him operate on them. Had West bothered to do the same research we did, she could have easily obtained these facts, and would probably still be around today. Also, plastic surgery is not magic- in fact it has the word surgery built into the phrase. While some people insist that dying during plastic surgery is never acceptable, one has to assume certain risks when allowing someone to put you under general anesthesia and splicing you open to make your breasts larger. It’s not like this surgery was meant to save West’s life, even though I’m sure it also wasn’t intended to take it either. Vanity has it’s price, as does plastic surgery, if you don’t want to risk your life then don’t put your life at risk. Especially with doctors who aren’t really doctors. Your life is a valuable thing and if there’s one thing people should learn from all of this it would be to do your research before you let any would-be doctor take your life, literally, into their own hands.

So, Kanye West’s mother, Donda West, died last week from unknown causes as the result from a cosmetic procedure. I’ve been seeing pictures of the doctor (pictured above) and it has been driving me crazy. So I looked it up, and viola! A connection. Dr. Jan Adams hosts his own reality show on the Discovery Health Channel that I watch (and love) called Plastic Surgery: Before and After. Having watched that show for a long time, I assumed that he was recognized as a master of the field, but it turns out to be not the case. Turns out:
1. He’s not a board certified plastic surgeon.
2. Two malpractice lawsuits have been brought against him. He had to pay some serious cash in both cases.
3. He’s been convicted of a DUI. Twice.
4. Did I mention that he isn’t a board certified plastic surgeon?
Never trust a reality star, people!
And P.S. Not to be sexist, but Jan is a girl’s name. Seriously.
